OERG Congress 2022 - Austrian and Bavarian X-Ray Societies

After the long period of online training due to the pandemic, it is a great pleasure for us to invite you again face-to-face to the joint annual congress of the Austrian-Bavarian X-ray Society in Salzburg from October 6th to 8th, 2022.

The topographical location of Salzburg with good transport connections from Bavaria and the other Austrian states as well as the cultural heritage and the beauty of the city make Salzburg an attractive congress location.

This year's congress of the BRG and ÖRG offers a comprehensive and interesting program for radiologists, RT's and MTRA's, which offers a good insight into the progress of this technical subject of medical radiology and intervention.

The focal points of the congress are dedicated to oncological radiology in all its specialist areas. The subspecialized working groups from Bavaria and Austria have made very interesting contributions here, which, in addition to "state-of-the-art" lectures, show how much AI and radiomics have already found their way into the diagnosis of oncological diseases and what effects the new immunotherapies are having in the interpretation of the imaging, must be taken into account. In addition, important aspects of structured reporting and the role of tumor boards and oncology information systems are discussed.

The increasing shortage of radiologists and the relatively easily established technical requirements have opened a large door for teleradiology. What will our workplace look like in five to ten years? Will we work from home or will we even be replaced by busy business models? All of these questions will be discussed from the point of view of a teleradiology provider, from the point of view of hospital radiology and from the point of view of radiology in private practice. In addition, established teleradiology projects in Germany and Austria will be presented.

Very successfully established workshops will be held again this year on the first day of the joint congress.

This time we have our young radiologists with us again with exciting case presentations. In the “Young Radiologist Lounge” you can have relaxed discussions or make new contacts.

In addition, the ÖRG's FFF course “Interventional Radiology” will again be offered as part of this congress.

We are pleased that the technical professional groups of RT's and MTRA's are again present with an exciting program. The daily close cooperation with the technical assistants is the basis for optimal patient care.

Last but not least, we would like to draw your attention to the Holzknecht Lecture, which in turn is held by a pioneer of radiology, in the spirit of the name giver.

Our supporting program should not only be a culinary delight, but also provide good entertainment with a cabaret artist in a relaxed atmosphere. And finally, the opportunity for networking should not be neglected.
